VicTESOL Presentation May 2019 

Addressing the needs of EAL students is a complex area of teaching. With the growing number of New Arrival families in Australia, Julia can assist school's in understanding the specific educational needs of EAL students. She has a unique set of skills and a deep understanding of EAL pedagogy. She is skilled in delivering professional learning workshops (both face-to-face and online) through VATE, VicTESOL, TasTESOL, ACTA, BooBook Education and the Teacher Learning Network to teachers in understanding EAL learners, including their varying backgrounds and needs; and providing teachers with strategies for working with EAL learners in their classrooms.

  • VCE EAL practice exam marking (schools serviced include Mentone Girls' Grammar, Peninsula Grammar School, Brighton Grammar School, St Leonard's College, Methodist Ladies' College, Mordialloc College and Essendon Keilor Secondary College) 

  • Cross marking for VCE EAL SACs

  • Creation of teaching materials and curriculum

  • Modification of practice test papers/exams
